So I have been a terrible blogger the last several months. Things have been crazy around our house and it’s taken everything I have just to keep this house running smoothly. Unfortunately blogging had to wait.

Things have quieted down a bit now and I am able to again pursue my blogging efforts.

I will spend the next few weeks getting caught up so that everyone knows what we’ve been doing this Summer! I promise to try and keep things up a bit better in the future.

3D Chalk!

I got some 3D chalk on clearance and let the kids go wild! Talk about hours of fun. It was an argument to get them to come inside for dinner. They loved it. I have to say that is some pretty cool stuff! Even Jay and I had fun with it. I just love Summer time activities.

Our wonderful neighbor offered to let us borrow his pool this Summer! The kids had such a fun. He lives right next door and let us all come and swim any time we wanted. We went over about once a week and took a little dip. Thanks Mr. Ken!

Abigail was invited to her very first “girly” party. A pedicure party! Super cute idea :) She had the best time ever. Smiling the whole time from ear to ear.

She has been with me before but never had her own water and chair so this was a serious treat!

Swim Lessons

The kids had swim lessons at the Y for two weeks this Summer. They loved it. I saw some serious progress in Jordan and he was actually advanced to the next level. Abigail also gained some confidence and would totally benefit from continuing. We will probably put them back in again in the Winter.

California–San Francisco Day 1

Good morning California!
We woke up to a scrumptious birthday breakfast for Uncle Matt’s very sweet girlfriend Lilian.
Happy birthday Lilian! YUMMMMM!

We lounged around for the morning (which allowed for some fun photos)… Look at that view!

We then decided to head to San Francisco for the afternoon. Oh what fun!

Everyone loaded in the van for the short ride there.

We crossed this bridge on the way into San Francisco. Very cool and HUGE!

Pretty neat how much you could see while you were on it.
Look at those palm trees!
The buildings were really cool too. Totally different from Spokane. Everything was super close together and there was a ton of people everywhere. People just walk into the street from all different directions. Wild.

We stopped by to take a closer look at the bridge and stretch our legs a bit.

Then we walked the short distance to The Aquarium of the Bay.

We saw some pretty cool stuff. The underground glass tunnel was by far the coolest thing ever!

California Trip–Part 3

Here is the rest of our redwood experience. We made a stop so we could drive through a tree! Yes, we literally drove through…

and ON some trees!

There was also some really cool tree houses that were built in some hollowed out trees. What fun it would be to have one of these in our back yard!

We stopped for some lunch and then continued on our way to Uncle Matt’s house!

We passed over a bridge (not sure what that one was called) and knew we were close! Everyone was super excited. About 45 minutes later we arrived at Uncle Matt and Lilian’s gorgeous home. Lots of hugs followed!

The kids went to bed early that night as everyone was super exhausted from our travels.

We spent some time visiting and enjoying the AMAZING view. I could look at this every night. Their entire living room and dining area is made up of windows so the view and span that you see is beyond incredible.

California Trip Part 2

Outside of Crescent City, CA.

After eating a quick bite we left Crescent City and continued heading South. Along the way we made a quick stop. We had never seen boats this big and had to show the kiddos just how cool they were up close.

Jordan loved them. But it was freeeeezing so we made a quick get away.

On the road again…

We got our first glimpse of the Ocean that morning. Lovely.

We decided we would make the best of our trip and do a bit of sight seeing. As we were traveling to “The Avenue of the Giants” we saw some of the biggest and most amazing trees ever (it only gets better from here).

We made a quick pit stop to check out these crazy statues.

They were HUGE! The Paul Bunyan even talked to us. Scared the pants right off the kids as his speaker voice bellowed through the trees. Funny stuff.

We ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant in a small town along the way.

After enjoying some yummy food we were off again. This was one of the coolest drives EVER! Words seriously can not express how amazing it was. Once we reached “The Avenue of the Giants” the fun really began! We stopped off to see the Eternal Tree House. It was incredible. The foliage alone was breathtaking.

After a quick trip to the bathroom and gift shop for some window shopping we hit the road again.

Off to California!

We’re off! Our very first family vacation! My first real trip as a Mother and a Wife (if you don’t count the traveling across country 3 times). How fun! Exciting and nerve wreaking at the same time. Jordan was very excited to leave! Don’t you just love his happy dance? :) We decided that we would rent a van and travel in that so we don’t put wear and tear on our van. Plus our van needs some work so this was a much safer way to travel. Isn’t it lovely? 2010 Kia Sadona. ONLY 5,800 miles! LOVED it! As we were traveling through Oregon we got gas for $2.69! When we left Spokane gas was about $3.10 a gallon so this was really “cheap”. I remember when gas was .99 a gallon! Yet now I get excited over $2.69. :P Oregon was a pretty state I guess. We really only saw a small amount of it since we didn’t get out of Spokane until about 4:30pm so it was almost dark by the time we got there. We actually saw a lot of this along the way:and some of this too:I started out driving and drove until it got dark. It was fun driving. Soo smooth in that new van. Although it took me a little to get used to it all.

The kids really needed a bit of a break after about 3 hours in the car so we stopped at a rest stop to give them a chance to run and eat some dinner. I wish we would have waited for a little longer though. We should have gotten the hint when we pulled up, unloaded the kids from the car and noticed this sign: 24 hour surveillance at a rest stop with nothing but bathrooms and grass that was so brown and dry we couldn’t find a comfortable place to lay our blanket and picnic dinner out on? Or perhaps that’s exactly the reason the conditions were so terrible?! Anyway on we went after a quick bite to eat and a little tag. We saw plenty of this along the way:While I was driving I also saw a lot of this: What a dork he is! Having fun with the camera. We ended up driving all the way to Crescent City, CA since we figured it was smarter to drive as much as we could while the kids were sleeping. Although we didn’t make it there until almost 3am and we never even got settled until almost 4am aaaaand the kids were up at about 6:30am. Ugh. But bright and early we were back on the road………………………………..

Independence Day 2010!

What a fun day! Jordan’s friend Anthony celebrated his birthday with a 4th of July party at Discovery Park. I made the cake for this event since Anthony wanted a special Lego cake. I think it turned out super cute. Anthony loved it which was the most important thing. Plus it tasted really good which was an added plus! ;o)

Everyone had a nice time. Jordan loved watching his friend open gifts and Joshua just loved being around all the new people.Abigail just ran and played most of the time so I really wasn’t able to snap many pictures of her.

After the birthday party we headed downtown to watch the fireworks! Definitely my favorite part of the 4th! I was a little worried this year since Joshua is so little and could possibly have been scared of the fireworks. But as it turned out he loved them. (See his cute USA shirt? ;O)) The kids were a little antsy since we got downtown pretty early so we decided to walk around a bit to see what else was going on.

The kids really wanted to try rock climbing so after some harnessing and waiting in line they started climbing. Abigail went really high up (almost to the top) while Jordan decided to stay a little lower (which was fine with me since I was having a mini panic attack watching them climb so high). Joshua loved seeing them wave to him from up top. What a happy guy!

After we walked around a bit more we settled into our seats to watch the show. We were still a little early and actually had to wait quite a while before the show started. Of course I decided to take plenty of pictures while we waited!

Such a positive guy. Even when he’s going to get his teeth pulled he smiles…

After some nitrous he was in quite the daze and laid back and relaxed like a pro.

I promised ice cream as a special treat. He never gets ice cream because of his allergy so this was the best “tooth ache soothing” treat ever. Abigail was also very happy to indulge in a yummy cool treat.

We enjoyed a family movie after our ice cream outing. Fun! I love this picture because I love to just chill out as a family and enjoy a good movie and each others company!

New T.V.!

Jay has been wanting a new T.V. for a while now. We’ve been so broke lately but have been finally getting our insurance settlements and found the best deal so we splurged. The best part is Jay sold our old T.V. and we only ended up paying 100.00 for the new set. We upgraded from a Samsung 37” to a Panasonic 46” Sweet deal!The boys had far to much fun getting it out of the box and up on the wall.

I hosted a baby play date for Mommy and Me today. Joshua had lots of his little buddies over! He was a little overwhelmed…. but eventually warmed right up and had lots of fun playing! (Joshua and his friend Kendall).

We <3 the Dentist!

Jordan and Abigail had their check up today. No cavities! Woohoo!

Jordan’s teeth look great. They decided that it was time to extract 4 more teeth to hopefully avoid some more crowding. We go back in a few weeks to have this done. He’s not happy about this but knows it’s for the best.

Our dentist said that his teeth “look very nice” and he thinks that Jordan’s teeth will be “photography worthy” as he grows. Funny guy! Perhaps he said that because I was taking lots of pictures? He even kindly posed for a picture.

Abigail did wonderfully and listened really well. She didn’t have an issue when they did the fluoride (which I normally opt out of but decided to do this time). Abigail has “very healthy, nicely spaced, perfect teeth”. Super nice compliment from the Doctor.

While we were there they decided to take lots of pictures of Abigail’s teeth and her bite since she still is having an issue from her finger sucking.

After we get approval from our insurance they will be fitting Abigail for this contraption.

It will have a key that needs to be turned every night. This will stay on for 6 months to a year. This will hopefully correct her bite and avoid any future issues. I don’t think that this is going to be a fun process but an remaining optimistic. As for now we wait…

Joshua - 4 and 5 Months

Weelllll.....I'm an awful blogger. I’ve been just adding to this over the last month or so instead of publishing. Better late then never I say….

3/10 - We moved Joshua out of his bassinet and into to his crib today. My hearts broken but I'm surviving. :( He wasn't sleeping very well and I think it was because is was starting to scoot up and hitting his little head on the top on the bassinet. My baby is growing up, nooooo!

3/15 - He's totally outgrown 3-6 month clothing and moved to 6-9 month stuff. Sad.

3/17 - He's really started playing with stuff now. He get's super excited when you play with him and loves his toys. His favorite right now is a small cloth plastic crinkly pooh book (also was Abby's fave when she was a baby, funny).

3/20 - He really is starting to know who each of us are. He gets very excited when either I come into the room. He absolutely loves Jordan and gets very very excited and squirmy when he talks to him. He also loves all the faces Jason and Abby make to him.

3/23 - He's started rolling over from front to back.

I think my all time favorite 4 month Joshua moment is that he likes to eat my face. This is kind of hard to explain but he pushes his little head side to side like he's rooting for a boobie and makes these "ahhh grrr" sounds while trying to eat me. Ha, ha! I know it sounds funny but it's so cute! (5/5 - We later realized that he's actually giving kisses!!!)

Joshua absolutely loves his dog. I gave it to him one day and this is how he reacted. He pretty much has not let it go since.

Now he sleeps like this. Every time. He has to have his dog and his blanket. It's super cute and a bit scary since I have never known a child to be this attached to something at only 4 months old. Hmm.

3/28 – Well I think we can officially say we’ve hit the teething stage. Lots of drooling and whining and we are all getting used to seeing little Joshua like this all day. Either his thumb or fingers or sometimes even his whole fist in his mouth. At least he’s handling it like a trooper (note the smile). Now let’s hope he get’s some teeth soon and it’s not months of pain without results like we had with Abigail.

Jason and Joshua fell asleep together the other day and I snapped these pictures. I would say they are Father and Son, yes?

This is one of Joshua’s signature faces. Ha, ha! Him and his big eyes. When he gets startled or excited or sometimes just because. Love it!

5 Months!

4/1 – He looks so big in these pictures. I know he’s not quite 5 months but he was closer to 5 then 4. ;0) These pictures really did bring tears to my eyes. He is getting so big. Finishing this post now (5/5) and knowing he’s even bigger makes me all the more sad. Why can’t they stay babies forever?

4/5/- Joshua learned how to jump!

4/8 – Joshua’s new love is lights. Any lights but especially the ones in our kitchen. He loves the reflection off the glass in our chandelier.

4/10 – Happy 5 months! I love you Joshua!

4/11 – Joshua started sitting by himself. He still topples over sometimes and I still put the poppy behind him just in case but overall he does a really good job of sitting unassisted.

4/17 – I’ve really noticed that Joshua is filling in. I wouldn’t call him “chunky” but he sure is solid and has really filled his britches. Quite literally in this picture. Ha, ha! Look at that belly and double chin! Isn’t he just beyond adorable?

He has also developed a nice little bald spot. Awesome. :( Oh well, it will eventually fill in…….I hope anyway…for his sake. :P

4/18 – So peaceful and sweet when he sleeps.

4/19 - In general Joshua is the easiest happiest little dude ever. He’s always smiling and laughing….well almost that is. He sure does have his moments…..like this one.

And I mean how pathetic is this?

But this is the side of Joshua we all love and see more often than not. Such a sweet and happy little guy!

4/23 – Just chilling on Dad at the circus. Love how he crossed his little feet. So sweet.

4/28 – We decided to try giving Joshua some banana today.

I would say he wasn’t much into that banana.

I think we will wait a while before we try solids again. Especially since he seems totally content with just breast milk.

4/29 – Rolled from back to front.

5/2 – Joshua has started saying “ga, ga, ga” now. It’s so cute! He just goes on and on like he’s having a conversation. Really involved “gaaaa, gaaaaaaa’s” and a few screeching “gaaa, gaaa’s” and some little sweet “ga, ga’s”. He talks to us, his toys, his dog and blanket and even the wall! Such a talker. He definitely fits right in with this family! :) I seriously can not wait for the Ma, ma’s and Da, da’s!

5/3 – Joshua and Jason were snuggling on the couch and Joshua reached up and started petting Jason’s face while saying “gaaaa, gaaa” all soft and sweet while he continued petting him. It was so very sweet. Words can not even explain. Where is my camera when I really need it? Oh, that’s right…the batteries were dead. Go figure.

5/5 – He has started rolling from back to front now on a regular basis. He’ll probably be crawling soon now!

I’m sure I missed something but I think the very best 5 month Joshua moment is that he really has started giving kisses! What started as “eating my face” last month has now developed into full blown open mouth kisses! SOOO sweet! He puts each of his hands on either side of my face and gives big sloppy wet kisses. I can’t get enough! :0) It’s precious.

Our gate outback was in some serious need of repair so Jason and Jordan decided that this was the perfect afternoon to fix it.

Jason turned 28 today! Wow, what an old man! I let him sleep in until the kids could wait no longer to surprise Daddy with their homemade cards and breakfast in bed.

Jordan decided he was the oldest so he got to carry the tray to Daddy. He felt very special!

The kids decided to tackle Jay and give him some good morning lovin!

Then they showed him the cool cards they made (Aspyn made him one too). So sweet!

Later that night we lit some candles and had some of Jay’s birthday cake. Yum! Ha, ha!

4/12 - We went and visited Kelly, Zack and Ryan today. I had to snuggle the sweet little newborn again! He was so soft and sweet. Smelled just like a little baby, hee, hee. Adorable. Sure makes me realize just how big Joshua is getting! Thanks for letting us visit Kelly! Love you guys!

I hosted a Easter Egg Hunt for the Mommy group I organize. It was a lot of fun! Jordan had a few older kids there to hang out with as well so it was nice for him. Everyone else had a blast!

Petting Farm Fun!

We had a lot of fun at the petting farm today. We took the whole family for a fun little visit.

Bye Bye Finger Sucking!

After much deliberation we decided to get something called The Finger Guard for Abigail to help her break her finger sucking habit. It was the most expensive piece of plastic ever but if it works it will be so worth it!

Abigail was very excited to start wearing it and couldn’t wait to put it on.

The enthusiasm only lasted about a day but she did a great job!

Update (5/15): After 3 weeks (should have left it on a full 30 days, poo) we have eliminated any day sucking and only have to deal with some evenings. After our visit with the dentist we wont have to worry about this much longer (post to come soon), yah!

Good job Abigail! We are very proud of you! :o)

Spy Gear…

My experience would tell me this was a gun….but no. According to my oldest son this is a “telescorpion”. When asked what a “telescorpion” was he said a mix between a telescope and a scorpian (duh!) because “the telescope is cool and the scorpion makes it so no one can hurt it.” Ahh, now it makes sense. Ingenious. ;o)

On Monday Jason started his 4th quarter! His first year of school is complete! Only 3 quarters left and he will have a degree. Woohoo!

I am very proud of him. He has worked his butt off and completed every quarter with straight A's! Trigonometry, architecture, drafting and many other difficult classes and he was able to maintain A’s, wow!

A few days ago while the kids and I were walking to pick Jordan up from school a little dog was running in the streets and kept running up to us and saying hi. I was worried that it was going to get hit so I called Jason and had him come get us. We called the number on the rabies tag and a little bit later the owner called us very thankful we had found “Lily” (the kids started calling her Lucy, which I thought was funny since it’s fairly close to what her name actually was). Little Lily ran around and played with Jack, Jason and the kids like crazy.

After Lilies visit Jason decided that he just “had” to have another dog “for Jack” so he surprised us today with little “Lucy”.

I can’t say I was thrilled about the idea but she’s a pretty sweet little thing and seems to fit really well with our family.

An Abigail Post....

I have been meaning to blog about Miss Abigail for a little while now and just haven't had time. So now I figure I better get to it since she had such a big moment in her life today. 5 years old! Oh, boy! I can not believe how fast time has gone. Before I know it she will be a teenager....seriously. Wowsa...I'm scared already...ha, ha...kidding....kinda. :0P

Well here is a post all about Abigail. We will start with a few funny things she's said recently.

"It's a miracle, it's a miracle, come quick it's a miracle!" "What is it Abigail?" "It's a ROCK!"

As I am changing Joshua's diaper last week: "Eww Mom! It's boy mustard." "What's boy mustard Abby?" "You know the stuff boy's poop out" (with this look like D-U-H Mom).

And how about a funny thing Abigail did recently (ha, ha, ha!):

(Yes, she seriously climbed all the way into Jack's doggy crate.)

A few Abigail updates:

Abigail is really starting to get this whole reading thing! She is extremely stubborn with the whole listening to Momma thing but when she does take the time to sit down with me and read she can sound out words all by herself and knows almost every letter sound without thinking! Very proud of her! I will post a video soon.

We are still having some issues with her sneaking things and getting into stuff but it does seem to have gotten a little better. She has gone several weeks now without waking up in the middle of the night and sneaking food. So hey that's a plus! She's also really starting to grasp the concept of how her behavior effects her little world. How is disappoints us and how she's much better of just behaving. It's a day to day struggle but I think I see some light at the end of the tunnel! She's such a challenge for me in every aspect. She keeps me on my toes that's for sure but despite everything I honestly wouldn't want it any other way......

Since Jordan had school on Abigail's birthday we decided to celebrate yesterday. We took the the kiddos to the Y and out to dinner. Abigail got a lovely new swimsuit (which she needed terribly) as a gift a whole day early. She loves it.

(I forgot my camera so I took some pictures with my phone but I'll have to load them later.)

Abigail and I spent most of the day just chilling out....hanging on the couch like this:

After Daddy and Brother got home Jordan and I had to run to the store so I could get some wrapping paper (I had no birthday wrapping paper at all but like 9 rolls of holiday wrap, of course :o(...) I got some really cute wrapping paper that I can not wait to use for her birthday party gifts (pink and brown polka dots!!)!

We decided to do gifts first....Abigail was super excited to see she was getting other presents (she thought her swimsuit and goggles her her only gifts).

Abigail decided she wanted to watch a movie and have a yummy dinner so that's what we did. Jordan was happy to join in on all the fun (with a full mouth at that :P)!

We took a break from the movie and did "cake" (a soy ice cream sandwich).

Joshua didn't understand exactly what all the excitement was about but he sure loved the balloon that came with it!

Jordan was very happy to help celebrate his sister's birthday! He loves her so much. Such a fab big brother!

New Family Stickers!

We have had these stickers on our car for about 3 years now. It was definitely time for a change! Plus, they were wearing off as you can see and we also had to add Joshua to the sticker family too!

Jason grabbed his razor blade and scraped our little family off…(ha, ha)……

…..and replaced it with these much cooler looking, now one baby larger, sticker family. I love my sticker family!

Jordan’s “Awesome” Fort

Many a time Jordan has draped a blanket over a table or a few chairs and made a “fort”. This time he didn’t just make any silly ‘ol fort though. He made the “most awesome fort EVER”. I do have to admit it was a pretty good fort. All by himself he took the shoelaces out of his old shoes (great, ha, ha) and found a piece of rope and constructed his fort out of a mound of blankets and sheets. Very clever. He did mess his entire room up in the process and had his stuff sprawled from one end of the room to the other but it was most definitely worth the weeks of fun this “awesome” fort gave him.

He was so very proud of his handy work! Good job Jordan!

At first no one was allowed into his fort but after a little while he decided to show it off to Abigail. She was SO beyond excited that he wanted to show her.

P.E.A.C.H Farm

What a fun day! I discovered a cool new, just developing, farm a few weeks back and although it was a bit cold decided to schedule an event for Mommy and Me. Abigail couldn’t have had any more fun!

She loved sitting around the campfire and visiting with her friends.

She was the first to volunteer to be the “seed and embryo” so she got to walk around and show everyone how things work from seed to apple.She really loved this (note her seedling poking out on her head).

Here she is with her raincoat on (signifying the hood and covering of a seed).This gal was the organizer for our group and did a wonderful job telling the “seed story” and singing the campfire song! After everyone was shown how a seed grows we all got to plant our own!Then we got a tour of the greenhouse.They put the kids to work….ha, ha…..Actually Abigail just decided to dig :P Then we were off to visit the goats! Abigail was soooo excited! This was definitely her favorite part! Love this picture! That goat would not leave her flower alone!This was the reaction when I said it was time to leave. I am pretty sure she had an all around fabulous time! :)

Bowling with Friends

Jordan has been asking for a while now if we could all go bowling so today was the day. We decided to meet some friends and their kiddos for some bowling action. :) We went to one of the local bowling allies a little after lunch time so we could have a late lunch and hopefully it wouldn’t be as crowded. Not sure what was wrong with people that day but the lanes stunk and the food took forever. Ahh well, everyone had a good time which is really all that matters. I do think we will try a different bowling ally next time though. :o(

Jordan's 2nd Grade Program!

I was SOOOO excited for tonight! It went really well and was super duper cute! Jordan was super stoked for this evening and although he wasn't feeling 100% and he was super tired he still did an amazing job. I loved watching all the kids preform and wouldn't trade trade this evening in for anything. Jordan missed his 1st grade program because he was in the hospital so this really meant a lot to all of us.

We will start with a cute little video......

We had to drop Jordan off before the show at his classroom. He was so excited!

The kids started by "getting all the wiggles and waves out". Love Jordan's smile in this one!

My sweet little boy even remembered to shoot me some smiles throughout the performance! What a wonderful son I have! I had a hard time getting good pictures because the girl standing in front is taller then he is. This was the best one I got. I think he looks very sweet in it! :o)

He even got to go on stage to sing!! It was the cutest thing!

Most of his time on stage he had to stand with his back to me but towards the end he managed to sneak me a few quick smiles. He did such a great job!

After the show we picked Jordan up from his classroom and had someone snap a quick family pic. We didn't forget Joshua but he was asleep in his car seat by our feet. ;o)

Pizza Rita Tour!

What fun! We joined some of our Mommy and Me friends for a Pizza Rita tour this morning. Everyone had a great time! I mean what beats friends and pizza? ;o)
She was super excited to make some pizzas!

We all went to the bathroom and washed our hands before starting our tour.

Abigail was the first to step up and help make the pizza! She is definitely not a shy one. She had a great time spreading the sauce.
She was concentrating very hard (note the tongue sticking out…) while adding the toppings.

After we made our pizzas they took us to their room where the dough is made. They showed us how to add the ingredients and let the kids help add the water.

It takes a real pro to know how to toss the dough like this. It’s hard!

They gave each of the kids a small amount of dough to take home. Abigail loved that dough and played with it until i finally threw it away because it was dirty and their was hair in it. :P

The kids were all troopers during the tour and managed to stay happy and (mostly) interested. They were all even happier when they were given their pizza and allowed to dig in! Yum!

She had a blast!

Ava's Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party

I didn't see Jordan much since he was just having to much fun. I managed to snap this one of him playing the racing game (probably his favorite one).

Of course he did make an appearance when it was time to sing happy birthday and eat cake. He wouldn't have dreamed of missing that part of the party. ;o)

We had a coupon for a free Build a Bear animal so the kids decided to pick one out for Joshua. Isn't he adorable?

We spent the morning just hanging out and then we took the kids to the mall in the afternoon. We did a little shopping and then stopped by Build a Bear. The kids had a lot of fun helping make Joshua's bear. :)

We made a yummy dinner, watched a family movie and spent the rest of the evening just hanging out. I would say that's a successful V-day. I think I have the cutest kids ever!

Maybe next year Jay and I can actually go on a date? ;o)

A Family Walk

We took the kiddos down to the school playground again this afternoon. The weather was way to gorgeous to not take advantage of it. 46 degrees! The kids decided to ride their bikes and had a ton of fun! They are both getting so big!

Joshua did great in the stroller again. He fell asleep before we had even walked a block. He didn't seem to mind the sun as much this time and tolerated the wind very well.

Jordan had his school Valentine party today. It was super fun! I love helping out at his school and seeing all the fun he has. He really does love school. :o)

They started with bingo. Jordan won an eraser!

Then the kids enjoyed a yummy snack. I love that Jordan chooses such good snacks! Carrots and crackers instead of cookies and candies.

Then they did a fun little lady bug craft. He had a lot of fun with that.

I think his favorite part was goofing around with his buddies.

Valentine Cookies

Abigail has been begging for days to make cookies again so after Jay left for class we finally made cookies. She was stoked. She loves getting her baking gear on and mixing the ingredients, rolling out the dough and cutting the cookies. She's really into all the small details that go into baking.

Jordan on the other hand just likes cutting the cookies out. He doesn't really like the measuring process or mixing the ingredients (unless I let him use the electric mixer). He likes the feeling of the dough and is really happy when I just let him play with some.

I didn't manage to take any pictures of the finished cookies since my batteries died. Oh well the previous two should suffice for this post. I'm sure you get the picture...Basically I have two pretty adorable 'lil bakers. ;o)

3 Months Old! And Other Updates..

3 months! Wow! I can not believe that he's 3 months old already. Time is going crazy fast!

Joshua is such a sweet little baby. He's so lovey and has such a sweet demeanor. One of my favorite things that he does right now is when he rubs his face against your face to let you know when he's really happy. He gives everyone a great amount of love all day long. He hardly cries unless something is upsetting him.

He is pretty alert during the day and only takes a few small naps but I really can't complain since he sleeps so wonderfully at night! At least 7 or 8 hours straight (normally even more then that!).I'm not saying I get that much sleep but he does! :)

He's such an easy going guy. Totally go with the flow. He loves being around people and can't get enough attention. His personality is really starting to shine and I am falling in love even more.

It's funny how quickly we choose to forget the joy of being in a rush, just about to leave and.........baby decides to poop......not just any 'ol poopy diaper, but out the diaper and up the back and (if your super lucky like I was that day) out the legs of the diaper too! Grrr! So this was the outcome of that poopy diaper......

Sickies.... : (

Well we've been hit. With the sickness that is. We were due I guess. I knew it would hit us sooner or later. I don't think Jordan or Abigail have been sick for a long while and I think I got sick maybe once while I was preggo so it's been a while. I started getting sick last Sunday and am finally feeling a bit better now thank goodness. I thought we were in the clear since the kids seemed totally fine...until yesterday that is. Abigail started coughing and her nose started running mid day. Ugh. Then Jordan started coughing last night. Double ugh. As soon as Jordan even gets a hint of a cold his asthma gets bad and he starts coughing like crazy. Poor guy I always feel so bad for him. He spent most of the day on the couch like this....

Abigail (my little sweetie) always seems to keep a smile on her face even if it is red and chapped. Poor girl ;(

Jordan did get up and ate some dinner tonight (some very yummmmmy soup I made) and he gave a small smile. He seemed like he's feeling a bit better. I sure hope so! His school program is tomorrow and I want to see my baby in the show! Plus I hate when he's sick :(

New Pediatrician!

We met with our new pediatrician this morning. She is wonderful! He name is Brenda Stoudt. She really seems to know her stuff and spent over 2 hours here thoroughly discussing and getting to know each child. She gave me some great advice on how to keep Abigail's behavior under control and she got along really well with the kids. She does a lot of "natural" medicine and is quick to offer alternative options beyond just the medical side of healthcare. The best part is she does house calls! Woohoo! It was a little odd having her come here but after I got used to her it was great! I think it's going to be a perfect fit!

She did a check up on all the kids. Beyond a slight cold they all have they are tip top shape :o)

Mommy and Me Valentine Party

Today was the 4th Annual Mommy and Me Valentine's Day Party. Every year we have two big parties for the group. Everyone gets together for a yummy potluck lunch/dinner, some crafts/games and lots of good conversation. The kids really have a great time. It's a LOT of work but it's always nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.

An Evening Story Time!

What fun! I know I had a great time tonight! The kids seemed to enjoy themselves a bit too. ;o) Tuesday evenings one of the libraries in our area has a family story time. We've gone to it once in the past but tonight was super cool! They started having something that they call "play and learn story time". It includes 1/2 hour of story time and then another 1/2 hour of play.

They kiddos got to hear 3-4 animal stories. This is Abigail sitting next to her new friend Abigail. They were 1.5 months apart. Pretty cute! They met and were inseparable the rest of the evening.

They sang fun songs after the story! Abigail LOVED it!

The kids had many different activities to keep busy with. Fun hand puppets!

This was the best! A gigantic indoor parachute! Very cool!

Wonderfully fun chalk and paper activity!

They had really cool blocks that the kids built castles with.

Jordan loved this tube and spent a lot of time just rolling around in it.

This story time was the best! The kids had such a great time and it was really neat! We will definitely be heading back again soon!

Roller Skate Night!

I took the kiddos to the skate night that Jordan's school put on at a nearby roller skateing rink this evening. It was actually a lot of fun! I don't know if I will do it again myself since it was a pretty hectic night. Lots of work to manage 3 kiddos, let alone 2 on skates and an infant with a billion other kids running around. But altogether it was a fun night.

This was Abigail's very first time on skates and she did great! She didn't mind falling a little and was super brave and ready to just go off on her own and have fun! She was a little to crazy for my liking but I guess thats better then being scared and timid.....right?

Jordan had a great time! He loved hanging out with the kids at school and really enjoyed getting another chance to try out his skating skills! He did very well for his second time skating and managed not to crack his head open so woohoo for that! :o)

I loved all the fun little things they had the kids do. After the skating was over they had all the kids go out on the rink and do some dancing. The kids all loved it!

A Beautiful Lazy Afternoon

This has been one crazy winter! It was 50+ degrees today, sunny and absolutly beautiful out in the middle of January! I decided to take the kids for a walk/bike ride down to the school playground. We all bundled up outside we went. Out to enjoy the glorious sunshine and fresh air!

Joshua LOVED being outside. He was a bit startled by the wind at first but after he got used to it he couldn't get enough of the sunshine! He just cooed and talked the whole ride. This is the first time he was ever really in his stroller so he did great! He didn't mind the bumpy road or the noisy barking dogs along the way. We will definitely be taking some more walks again soon since we all had such a great time!

Jordan is getting really good on his bike! He was doing big huge circles and is becoming pretty comfortable. I even taught him how to stop without dropping his bike and jumping off. Progress! Hee, hee! He had a lot of fun showing off his school playground. He did really well about staying close by and not getting to far ahead of us. I was very proud of him! He's so big! I can not believe he is 8 years old already! Wow!

Abigail did wonderfully! I was kind of afraid walking them down there myself since the main road isn't far from our house. But it didn't turn out to be a problem at all. She listened fabulously and stopped and waited when I told her to. She had a bunch of fun riding on her Dora bicycle too! She tried really hard to keep up with her Brother but mainly stayed by my side and just peddled along. At one point she started singing "just keep peddling, just keep peddling, just keep peddling." Ha, ha! It reminded me of Dory from Finding Nemo "Just keep swimming, swimming...." You know what I mean if you have watched that movie. Even if you haven't, I'm sure you can see how cute it might be. ;o)

The kids had a ton of fun playing at the playground. It was so nice to just breath the fresh air and have the sun hitting my face. I loved watching them run, burn off energy and just be kids.

After we enjoyed the playground we decided to play a quick game of hide and seek before we made the short walk home. I found Abigail hiding behind a bush. Love this cute picture!

When we got home Joshua decided he needed some time to just kick back and relax on the couch.

(Ha, ha, ha! I love this picture. I think it's hillarious! I can see him in 15 years sitting in this exact position wearing his boxer shorts kicked back watching football or something!! LOL!!)

After he ate and relaxed a bit he just couldn't help himself and had to take a short little nap with Daddy.

Some Joshua Updates (My 300th Post!!!)

Joshua is just such a wonderful baby. He's super easy going and loves to be around people. I'm absolutely loving watching his personality shine. I wanted to write down some things so that you can all see how he is developing and so that I can remember some of his small little mile stones.

12/10/2009 - 1 month old! Joshua smiled at someone for the first time! You would expect he would smile at Mommy or Daddy first but oh no! Of all people he smiled at one of the nurses at the hospital. Ha, ha! What a flirt already. Once he got the hang of smiling he has been doing it more and more every day.

12/12/2009 - Joshua really found his voice! He makes all sorts of noises. Very cute!

12/29/2009 - I'm noticed that he's started relaxing his hands a lot lately. Instead of the sweet little closed baby fists all the time he's now started grabbing onto things and holding on. He relaxes his hands and pats you while he's nursing or being held. He also relaxes them and places them on his tummy or by his face when he's sleeping. It's awfully cute.

12/30/2009 - Joshua has started talking to us like crazy! It's the cutest thing ever. He "oos" and "aaas" ALL the time now. He will even talk back to you. If I talk to him he talks right back and carries on a little conversation with me! I don't remember the other kids doing this but I absolutely love it!

1/4/2010 - I have started to notice that every time Joshua hears my voice he stops what he's doing and listens. It doesn't even matter if he's screaming he stops and listens. He is such a good baby! You can even talk him out of crying. It's great and kind of funny at the same time. Just talk softly to him, telling him that he'll have to wait, and he listens and waits until you finish what you are doing. For instance if I'm driving and can't stop right then to take care of him, as long as I keep talking to him he stops crying (mostly). :) He really likes to have me close by if I am not holding him. If he can hear my voice (or if I am not talking just feeling my presence) he is so content and easy going.

1/5/2010 - Joshua has been doing great with sleeping! He's started getting on a schedule and is sleeping anywhere from 6-7 hours straight a night. Not every single night but a good majority of them. He is also awake and very alert during the day. It's great! He's such a great baby!

1/6/2009 - Real tears! He had real tears when he was crying today. So sad!

1/7/2010 - Oh boy is he strong! He's always been really good about holding his head up since he was born but he's really started to move his head side to side while standing. He also holds himself up really well.

Can you believe he can stand like this already!?!?

1/10/2010 - Two months old! Joshua laughed for the first time! It was the cutest thing ever! I was holding him while Jason and I watched a movie. He was just laying in my arms sucking on his pacifier when all of a sudden he started to giggle. I thought I imagined it but a second later he did it again. Sooo adorable!

Savage Land

We took the kids to Savage Land this morning to meet some friends for lunch. Savage Land is a pretty cool place. A lot like Chuckie E Cheese but a bit more personal.
